Teak:

  • Certified Grade-A solid teak
  • Stained – not painted – to highlight natural beauty of wood grain
  • If left untreated, Original Teak will weather to handsome grey hue
  • Machine-built for consistency
  • Mortise & tenon joinery – dowels expand over time to enhance stability
  • Kiln-dried wood won’t warp, bend or split
  • Very low-maintenance
  • Natural variations in color & grain of teak make each piece unique
  • As your outdoor teak furniture ages, small cracks may appear in the wood. This is known as “checking” and it happens when changes in the weather cause the teak to slightly expand and contract. Checking is purely cosmetic and does not affect the structural integrity of your furniture.
  • Although teak itself will not mildew, dirt and other foreign substances on the wood can mildew. Mildew can also form when wet teak is covered before it has completely dried. This occurs more commonly in warm, humid climates. If this happens, follow the cleaning instructions in our Furniture Care & Maintenance guide immediately to prevent stains that are difficult to remove.
